What is Blower Door Testing GTI 650/658?

GTI650/658 is a self-developed, technologically advanced and scientifically designed building air tightness testing equipment. It is mainly used to test the air tightness level of building envelopes, diagnose and demonstrate air infiltration problems, and estimate the natural air permeability and energy efficiency building air tightness testingloss caused by air infiltration. It can also be used to evaluate the overall performance of the building, for building energy efficiency, building air tightness testing, reduce energy demand and improve energy efficiency.

International Standards: ASTM E779-03, E1554-07, CGSB-149.10-M86, EN 13829, ATTMA, GBT34010-2017, T/CECS 704-2020.

 What is the principle of building air tightness test?

The house air tightness test needs to install the blower on the sealed door, and pressurizes and depressurizes the house through the blower to create a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the house. This pressure difference can make the air flow between the outer structure of the house. By measuring the change of the flow rate in the building caused by the blower, the system can measure the air tightness of the entire house envelope. This system mainly tests the overall air tightness of the building (building envelope) and the air leakage detection of external doors and windows or any local area. The relevant data that can be obtained are:

Check the air infiltration of the building (m3/h);

Estimate the natural permeability of the house (air change times);

Measure and test the air tightness level of the building, and find the leakage point through special methods;

Why need to do building airtightness testing?

  Building airtightness refers to the ability of a building to prevent air infiltration when it is closed. Building airtightness testing is a method to evaluate the sealing performance of the building's exterior envelope. By detecting and quantitatively measuring air leakage, this test can help identify potential energy waste problems and improve indoor environmental quality.

1. Energy efficiency: reduce heat transfer and optimize air conditioning system operation.

2. Indoor environmental quality: control temperature, humidity and mold growth, reduce noise pollution, and prevent dust and pollutants from entering.

3. Building structure and durability: avoid condensation and damage, wind and waterproof protection.

4. Compliance with regulations and standards: building energy-saving regulations and green building certification requirements.
